EGLM AD 2.19  RADIO NAVIGATION AND LANDING AIDS

EGLM AD 2.20  LOCAL AERODROME REGULATIONS

1  Airport Regulations
  1. Users of the aerodrome should be familiar with the West London Aero Club Operations Manual which is available at the aerodrome or on the internet at https://www.wlac.co.uk

2  Ground Movement

Not applicable

3  CAT II/III Operations

Not applicable

4  Warnings
  1. The aerodrome is located immediately to the west of the London CTR and part of the White Waltham ATZ to the east lies within the London CTR.

  2. The aerodrome surface is rough and undulating.

  3. Vehicular traffic, not under the control of the aerodrome operator, uses the perimeter track which bounds the manoeuvring area to the west and north of the aerodrome and pilots are cautioned to exercise extreme vigilance when operating aircraft and to use only established taxiways in order to ensure safe clearance.

  4. Aerobatics display practice may take place in the airfield overhead.

  5. Drone testing takes place on the aerodrome up to 400 FT AGL.

5  Helicopter Operations

Not applicable

6  Use of Runways

Not applicable

7  Training

Not applicable

EGLM AD 2.21  NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

  1. Pilots of departing aircraft are requested to conform with Local Noise Abatement Procedures. Details are available in the briefing room, on the website and via a briefing from Operations. Pilots should take care that operating noise is kept to a minimum. No flying over built up areas, avoid overflying local villages.

EGLM AD 2.22  FLIGHT PROCEDURES

1  Reporting Points and Arrivals
  1. Aircraft arriving at White Waltham aerodrome are to approach by one of the reporting points November, Sierra or Whiskey shown on the Traffic Zone Chart at AD 2-EGLM-4-1.

  2. Aircraft are to arrive overhead the aerodrome at 1200 FT QFE and then carry out a standard overhead join from this height.

2  Aircraft in the London CTR outside the White Waltham Local Flying Area (LFA)
  1. Pilots operating on a VFR or Special VFR clearance in the London CTR inbound to White Waltham (or otherwise) must not assume a clearance has been given to penetrate the ATZ.

  2. Pilots requiring a VFR or Special VFR clearance to transit the London CTR must remain within the confines of the White Waltham LFA until a clearance has been obtained from Heathrow Radar.

3  Local Flying Area (LFA)
  1. White Waltham Aerodrome Local Flying Area (LFA) (see AD 2-EGLM-4-1) is defined as that portion of the White Waltham ATZ contained within the London Control Zone. VFR flights may take place within the LFA subject to the following conditions:

    1. In compliance with the Class D Airspace weather minima as defined in ENR 1.2;

    2. Maximum altitude: 1500 ft QNH;

    Note 1: Pilots of aircraft flying under VFR in the LFA are responsible for providing their own separation from other aircraft operating in the relevant airspace. SVFR flights are required to be separated by Heathrow Radar.

    Note 2: Aircraft unable to operate VFR may operate Special VFR within the LFA subject to:

    (i) The conditions in paragraph (a)(i) and (ii);

    (ii) The requirements for Special VFR flights detailed in ENR 1.2 and;

    (iii) Subject to approval from Heathrow Radar.

  2. Mode S Transponders

    1. The carriage of a Mode S Transponder within the LFA is encouraged, however there is currently no requirement for aircraft operating in the White Waltham LFA to comply with the requirements of the London CTR Mode S Transponder Mandatory Zone (TMZ).

    2. Pilots of suitably equipped aircraft shall utilise the transponder to the maximum serviceable extent, selecting SSR code 7000 with altitude information selected where fitted.

4  Circuits
  1. All joins normally overhead at 1200 FT QFE; circuit height 800 FT QFE.
